Religion: Students took Chapter 1 Test today (Tuesday) and will start Chapter 2 on Wednesday. I told the students that each chapter will be on the same schedule. Start a chapter on Wednesday, complete all activity questions and chapter review by Monday of the next week and test on Tuesday. I suggested that if they don’t want religion homework over the week end, they are more than encouraged to work ahead on these assignments. We check and discuss these questions on Mondays.
Science: Students are beginning an introduction to chemistry. We are learning how to read the Periodic Table and they are starting to learn the Families of Elements. Homework: Review guided notes and location of the different Families on the Periodic Table. Test at the end of next week.
Science Fair: Students have been very good at turning in their packets on time. I must have been very optimistic when I made the schedule, because I am having a hard time keeping up with grading them. I have changed some due dates.
packet #2 is now due this week. Most are already turned in.
packet #3 (the items listed as due week of 9/8 and 9/15) are now due week of 9/23
Begin experimenting week of 9/29 (not 9/23).
I have asked the students to use the 9 steps of the Scientific Method for their experiment and write this in their journals (composition notebook).
Health: Chapter 1, lesson 2 quiz on Thursday. Guided notes were handed out last Thursday as a study guide, but were not required.
