VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Field Day will be on Wed. May, 27th. Grades 6-8 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and Grades K-5 from 12-2 p.m.
Parents are invited to share this fun end-of-year time as volunteers. Mr. Eyerman is coordinating our event this year and would like to have at least 8, but as many as 16 volunteers for grades 6-8. Ten to 20 volunteers for grades K-5. Enough help should make this a fun event for everyone.
If you are able to share an hour or more, please email email@example.com to let him know when you would like to help. We will take as many volunteers as we can get! Middle School volunteers please be present from 7:30-8:00 a.m. to learn the ropes. K-5th grade volunteers please be present from 10:30-11:00 for the same.
The Saint Mary Advisory Board would like to welcome its three newest members and introduce them to the school community. Susan Mauger, Holly Uhl, and William Sharp. The board received three applications to fill three open seats. As such, an election was not required and the three applicants have each been appointed to a three year term beginning at the conclusion of our June meeting. Attention Parents: Art work for sale!
If you were unable to make it and purchase your child’s art work after May Crowning then have no worries because there is still a chance to buy the wonderful pieces by visiting or contacting the school office. All the money raised will be given to Art Department for the next school. If you have any questions please feel free to speak with Mrs. Schmelzer in the school office at 740-654-1632 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org as she would be more than happy to help in any way possible.
Spring cleaning is a great time to find those missing and overdue LIBRARY BOOKS! Please help your child to search for books that belong to our library and return them during the month of May. We really prefer to have the book returned than to mark it ‘LOST’ and charge a fine to replace the book. Encourage your child to search home bookshelves, in closets and under beds! Thank you for helping us with our inventory.
In search of alumni of St. Mary School! Did you attend St. Mary School? The St. Mary School Advisory Board is building a database of alumni to keep in touch with and keep posted on all of the great happenings at our school. FALL IRISH CLUB SOCCER: Attention all students who will be entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade next year- play club soccer with your St. Mary friends in the Fairfield County Junior High League! We play Thomas Ewing, Sherman, Amanda, Fairfield Union, and Logan. Games are played on Thursday evenings followed by an end of season tournament. This is a great opportunity to play at a competitive junior high level with local teams at a low cost ($65 per player includes uniform). Former St. Mary teacher Sheri Sheridan will be offering tutoring services this summer for all grades and subjects (excluding advanced high school math). She will also be offering summer sewing, traditional cooking lessons, and general home economics. Want to get SCRIP over the Summer? No problem! Click here for the Summer pick up schedule. You buy gift cards for items you are already going to purchase, and the school earns a portion of the card amount. We will still be processing SCRIP on Monday mornings, in the Copy Room (beside the Spirit store case, across from the gym) until the end of the year. On-line orders must be placed by 11:00 p.m. the Monday before pick up date each month. Pleasant Valley Golf Course. Pee Wee league plays Par 3 course 9 holes. Jr. League plays executive course 9 holes. Tuesdays, 8:00 a.m. tee off, beginning June 9th, 2015. Requirements: 1. Have played golf 2. Know basic rules 3. Each player must have own equipment.
Registration fee is $30.00 per player Family Registration is $50.00, The objective is to have FUN and learn. Each week will begin with a clinic covering some rules and etiquette. CLICK HERE for more information, and call 740-654-3293 to register.
ATTENTION 8TH GRADE GIRLS!! Fisher Catholic High School is offering the opportunity to participate in a strength and conditioning program that will benefit all female athletes in ANY quick agility sport. “Nervous System Training or NST” is an organization that focuses on improving athleticism, team chemistry and prevention of injuries to better prepare for competition. Our sessions will take place at Fisher Catholic High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:45. For 8 weeks (June and July,) 75 minute sessions and NST bringing in all their equipment: Resisted Trainers – Assisted Training – Ladders – Cones – Hip Flexor Development Bands. Total cost for the sessions are paid upon registration, $80 total. Cost is $5.00 per session with a pre-registration requirement. This is for the entire 8 weeks of workout. We are in need of at least 30 female athletes to participate in this program. We can take up to 60.
