St. Mary School has a strong tradition of instilling a love of the arts in its students and has strived to incorporate this love into the community. This year we are presenting “Once Upon a Mattress” – a junior musical and retelling of the fairy tale, The Princess and the Pea. The performances will be featuring our junior high 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, and will be presented on Friday, April 17 at 7 pm and Saturday, April 18 at 3 pm. As in previous years, our playbill will feature the opportunity for businesses and parents to purchase space to advertise their business or to show support to their students for a minimal donation. Business owners can choose a half-page or full-page ad to advertise their business, and parents and grandparents have the option of a quarter-page or half-page ad to tell their star to “Break a leg!” All monies received will be used in the production of the musical – from paint to wood, costuming to lighting and sound, PR, scripts, music and anything which the production might need. Spaces are limited, so please send in your ad/support as soon as possible. We will need to edit and publish our playbill by Wednesday, April 15. Please send in your ad in the correct page size and “print ready” so that we do not have to skew the image to make it fit. Pages are 8 ½ X 7 (a legal page folded in half. In order to purchase an ad, please complete the form attached and send it to: St. Mary Theatre, Attn: Sharon Silleck, 309 E. Chestnut Street, Lancaster, OH 43130. Please plan to join us for one of the shows over the weekend! Tickets are $6 adults, $4 for children and seniors, or $20 for a family. GRANDPARENT VISIT LUNCH & MAY CROWNING is scheduled for May 7. RSVP IS REQUIRED BY APRIL 30 so that we can order an appropriate amount of lunch items. One RSVP form per family. Pre-payment for lunches for visiting grandparents is also required so that they do not have to go through the lunch line. Please see the attached RSVP form for more information. Announcements about the arrival of grandparents to school on May 7, check-in for lunch, seating, etc will be available in upcoming editions of the Thursday Folder.
MARKET DAY ! Want to order for April? Pick up a form outside the office and order by Monday, April 13, for delivery on April 18. Also check online at www.marketday.com to set up an account to order from home! On-line orders must be placed by 11:00 p.m. the Monday before pick up date each month. If you would like to volunteer to help with the next Market Day delivery, please contact Kendra Gundelfinger at 740-654-6625 or 740-974-7449. Helpers arrive at 8:00 a.m., pick up will run from 8:30-9:30.
Protecting God’s Children class,which is required for all volunteers is being offered at Bremen St. Mary Sunday, April 19 at 1pm and at Pickerington Seton Parish Tuesday, June 2 at 6:30pm. There are many other locations throughout the Diocese, to register, or for a complete list of classes, visit www.virtus.org.
IT’S NOT TOO LATE!! Our annual St. Joseph Father Daughter Dance for girls preschool through Fifth grade will take place on Saturday, April 11th, from 6:30-8:30pm in the St. Mary Spirit Center. This is a wholesome evening of foot-stomping fun! Music provided by Mrs. Albert, Music Teacher. Don’t miss it! Please turn in registration forms (paper copies available at school or download here) to your child’s teacher or the school office by Friday, April 10. It’s Time to Think Spring and St. Mary Annual Spring Flower Sale! It’s time for the St. Mary Education Association’s Annual Spring Flower Sale! After this long, cold winter, isn’t it nice to plan for flowers and vegetables! Download the following order form and start dreaming.
Former St. Mary teacher Sheri Sheridan will be offering tutoring services this summer for all grades and subjects (excluding advanced high school math). She will also be offering summer sewing, traditional cooking lessons, and general home economics. Advanced high school math tutoring is available through her husband, Michael Sheridan (mechanical engineer, FCHS alumnus). Flexible hours, call for more information and to secure your spot. Sacramental Preparation 2014-2015 Please be diligent in adding these events to your calendar so you may be faithful in attending these important sessions. If you’re unable to attend or miss a session, the responsibility is yours to contact me that following week so we can cover the material you missed. Also, deadlines for sacramental forms are very important, so please be sure to submit information on time or your son or daughter may not be able to receive the sacrament as scheduled. As a parent, you are the primary teacher of the faith to your child. Father Eilerman and I are happy to assist and support you in any way we can with this very essential charge in forming you child’s mind and heart with the teachings of our Lord and His Church. In your charity, please pray that the Holy Spirit may guide and bless our preparations this year.

Want to get a SCRIP casual pass for your child? Buy $200 in SCRIP in one month to earn casual day passes for the following month . You buy gift cards for items you are already going to purchase, and the school earns a portion of the card amount. Designated casual days for this school year: April 17 and May 15. We will be processing SCRIP on Monday mornings, in the Copy Room (beside the Spirit store case, across from the gym).
