NEW NEWS:

ST. MARY OPEN HOUSE! St. Mary School will be hosting an Open Houseon Sunday, February 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for any family who is considering sending their children to the school. Teachers and staff will be available to show prospective students around, and answer questions. Staff  and advisory board members will also be available to discuss tuition assistance and scholarship opportunities. The St. Mary Pre-School will also be hosting prospective families. If you are unable to attend the Open House and have questions, please contact the school office at 654-1632 or email Erin Schornack, Principal Share the good news of St. Mary Schools – encourage your friends and neighbors to visit the Open House!

 

It’s FINALLY here! It’s that time of year to order Yearbooks! You won’t want to miss a MINUTE of your child’s school year. Please return this form by March 20th for a special offer of $15 per book! SCRIP CASUAL DAY, Friday, February 20.  Want to get a casual pass for your child?  Buy $200 in SCRIP in one month to earn casual day passes for the following month .  You buy gift cards for items you are already going to purchase, and the school earns a portion of the card amount.  Designated casual days for this school year: March 20 (subject to change due to Living Stations of the Cross), April 17 and May 15.  We will be processing SCRIP on Monday mornings, in the Copy Room (beside the Spirit store case, across from the gym). dance shoesAttention girls in preschool through 5th grade: Our St. Mary School annual St. Joseph Father-Daughter Dance is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th from 6:30-8:30pm in the St. Mary Spirit Center. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details!!

We will have an Irish Team in the (LGSA) Lancaster Girls Softball Association League this year!!  Please click here to fill out registration form and return it to school by Monday, February 23rd.   You will also need to sign up either online here (use the register link at the top of the home page.) Parents must first register and create a user account, then you can register your child/children. FC Spring Baseball Camp! The Fisher Catholic Baseball Camp is offered March 7 to those who are currently in grades K – 8. The main objective of the camp is to focus on the basic fundamentals of baseball and to improve each individual’s skill level. Throughout the camp, there will be individual instruction provided by High School Players and Staff. Click here for more information.

Once-Upon-A-Mattress1Save the Date!! Please mark your calendars now for the spring musical “Once Upon a Mattress.”  The production will be presented on Friday, April 17th at 7:00 p.m.  There will also be a matinee performance on Saturday, April 18th at 3:00 p.m.  If you thought you knew the story of “The Princess and the Pea” you may be in for a surprise!  Our junior high will show you that Princess Winnifred actually had to swim the moat to get to the castle!  And you will see that it may not have been the pea at all that caused a sleepless night!  Roles have been cast and rehearsals have begun.  CLICK HERE for a complete cast list. tutor1Former St. Mary teacher Sheri Sheridan will be offering tutoring services this summer for all grades and subjects (excluding advanced high school math). She will also be offering summer sewing, traditional cooking lessons, and general home economics. Advanced high school math tutoring is available through her husband, Michael Sheridan (mechanical engineer, FCHS alumnus). Flexible hours, call for more information and to secure your spot. Sacramental Preparation 2014-2015  Please be diligent in adding these events to your calendar so you may be faithful in attending these important sessions. If you’re unable to attend or miss a session, the responsibility is yours to contact me that following week so we can cover the material you missed. Also, deadlines for sacramental forms are very important, so please be sure to submit information on time or your son or daughter may not be able to receive the sacrament as scheduled. As a parent, you are the primary teacher of the faith to your child. Father Eilerman and I are happy to assist and support you in any way we can with this very essential charge in forming you child’s mind and heart with the teachings of our Lord and His Church. In your charity, please pray that the Holy Spirit may guide and bless our preparations this year.

FUNDRAISING NEWS:

NEXT MARKET DAY pick up this Saturday, March 14TH!  Want to order for March? Pick up a form outside the office and order by Monday, March 9 for delivery on March 14.  Also check online at www.marketday.com to set up an account to order from home!  On-line orders must be placed by 11:00 p.m. the Monday before pick up date each month.  If you would like to volunteer to help with the next Market Day delivery, please contact Kendra Gundelfinger at 740-654-6625 or 740-974-7449. Helpers arrive at 8:00 a.m., pick up will run from 8:30-9:30.
