NEW NEWS:

SCRIP CASUAL DAY TOMORROW, NOVEMBER 14!! Want to get a casual pass for your child? Buy $200 in SCRIP in one month. It’s that easy! You buy gift cards for items you are already going to purchase, and the school earns a portion of the card amount. These are the designated casual days for this school year: December 12, January 16, February 20, March 20 (subject to change due to Living Stations of the Cross), April 17 and May 15. SCRIP UPDATES FOR 2014-2015: We will be processing SCRIP on Monday mornings, in the Copy Room (located beside the Spirit store case, across from the gymnasium door). We would also gladly accept supplies: bread, bologna, individually wrapped cheese, baggies. HOLIDAY HAPPENING NEWS:

The Home & School Association would like to send their gratitude to everyone for their efforts on this year’s Holiday Happening.  Together, we raised over $40,000.00 !!!  It’s truly remarkable.

The Raffle Sale was a HUGE success this year!  Thank you to all students, parents and teachers. Our total was $14,568 heading into the weekend.  The teachers sold another $662 in tickets during Holiday Happening.  Thank you teachers! Our grand total was $15,568!  Seventh grader, Geneva Frank, sold the winning ticket so she will receive $100 and the Winner of the $1000 grand prize was Jen Walling.  

Natalie Boyden was the top seller for 2 years in a row.  This year she sold $1183 in tickets. 

The entire school won a week of dressing casual for 100% participation!  There were 10 classes that earned the Pizza Party for averaging $40 per student:  Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, Mrs Novena’s 6th grade, both 7th grades and Mrs. Van Evra’s 8th grade.  

 

ST. MARY NEWS:

canned-food-clipartHelp our PreSchool collect food items for St. Vincent DePaul and the Fairfield County Food Bank: November 3- 17! Items needed: Boxes of instant mashed potatoes, boxed stuffing, cake mixes, icing, jello, cans of green beans-corn- fruit- and cranberry sauce, cans of cream of mushroom soup, and egg noodles. Please drop items in designated boxes in Main hallway and first floor hallway of the Primary building. Thanks for helping others this Thanksgiving.

Poinsettia and Wreath Sale!     The Saint Mary Teachers’ Association sponsors an annual Poinsettia Sale.  Orders will be taken through November, 19th.   Orders may be turned in to your child’s teacher, the school office, or placed on the school’s website. NEW red_poinsettiaTHIS YEAR – You can order your Holiday Wreath from St. Mary too!!

Wreaths are approximately 20″ in diameter, made of fresh pine greenery, with pine cones and a bow. Your choice of bow color: red or burgundy. Payment and Pickup Dates: **Friday, December 5th, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, and **Saturday, December 6th,  10:00am to 12:00pm in the Spirit Center. 100% of the profits from this and the spring flower sale are donated to the school for tuition assistance.  To date, the flower sales have donated over $250,000.00, and many families have benefited from your generous support. Sacramental Preparation 2014-2015  Please be diligent in adding these events to your calendar so you may be faithful in attending these important sessions. If you’re unable to attend or miss a session, the responsibility is yours to contact me that following week so we can cover the material you missed. Also, deadlines for sacramental forms are very important, so please be sure to submit information on time or your son or daughter may not be able to receive the sacrament as scheduled. As a parent, you are the primary teacher of the faith to your child. Father Eilerman and I are happy to assist and support you in any way we can with this very essential charge in forming you child’s mind and heart with the teachings of our Lord and His Church. In your charity, please pray that the Holy Spirit may guide and bless our preparations this year.

Check out MARKET DAY! Fast and ready, healthy quick meals and appetizers for your holiday parties. Want to order for next month? Pick up a form outside the office and order by Tuesday, December 2, for delivery on December 6.  Also check online at www.marketday.com to set up an account to order from home! On-line orders must be placed by 11:00 p.m. the Tuesday before pick up date each month. If you would like to volunteer to help with the next Market Day delivery, please contact Kendra Gundelfinger at 740-654-6625 or 740-974-7449. Helpers arrive at 8:00 a.m., pick up will run from 8:30-9:30.

COMMUNITY NEWS:

Fisher-Catholic-Irish-logo-TFPFisher Catholic Fall Men’s Stag Night! Date: December 6, 2014, from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Cost: $40 per ticket, you can purchase at: http://fcstagnight.brownpapertickets.com or call the Fisher Catholic office by December 2nd, at 740-654-1231. Enjoy a steak dinner, Roosters wings, adult beverages, door prizes, and reverse raffle. Come enjoy a night of Football, Food and Fun at Fisher Catholic in Alumni Hall!!! Wings will be ready at 7:00 pm, and dinner will be served at 7:30 pm. The reverse raffle will follow cornhole sets, and games of chance to play. During the Stag we will show: The Big Ten Championship Game (8pm), OHSAA Football State Championship game (8pm), and highlights from this year’s Irish Football Team on 3 different screens!!!

Fairfield Medical Center Community CPR Day. Saturday Nov. 15 Learn Hands-on Practical Experience or HOPE (15-minute course) or complete the Community Provider CPR class through the American Safety and Health Institute (3-4 hour course). Full CPR – 9 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. Classes limited to 20 participants. Registration required. Call 740-689-6893.
