ATTENTION 7th and 8th Grade Baseball Players!! Sign-up sheets for 7th and 8th grade baseball will be in the office at St. Mary’s this week. Please understand if they sign the sheet they are not bound to anything. We are trying to gauge interest and possibly have two separate 7 and 8 teams instead of one combined 7/8. Thank you.

Ohio Catholic FCU Scholarship applications are now available for $50,000 in Catholic Education Scholarships! The waiting is over! Online applications are now live on Ohio Catholic’s website for the $50,000 Catholic Education Scholarship. Fifty families in Ohio will each received $1,000 to assist in paying for their student(s) Catholic grade or high school tuition for the 2015-2016 school year. How can your family apply for the scholarship? Simply go to www.ohiocatholicfcu.com/scholarships and fill out the required information. Then have someone from your student’s school fill out the recommendation form to verify their enrollment. The scholarship giveaway is open to members and non-members so spread the word to all your family and friends.
After School Art Classes Now Forming for February – Monday: Watercolor Session will be offered February 9th, 16th, and 23rd for $25.00. Students will work on watercolor techniques and mini paintings, before completing a sketch for their final Product! All materials are provided.
Wednesday: Ceramic Session will be offered February 11th, 18st, and 25th for $30.00. Students will work with clay and different hand building techniques! Clay and glazes will be provided. All classes will run from 6-7 pm at Fisher Catholic in room 301, the art room. All materials are provided. Classes tend to fill quickly! Call to save your Spot! Bring a friend for more fun! Cake Bingo – Sunday, Feb. 8th from 12:30pm – 2:30pm in the Spirit Center. Cost is $5 per person/ $20 per family which includes Unlimited Bingo, Pizza, Beverages, and Snacks. Former St. Mary teacher Sheri Sheridan will be offering tutoring services this summer for all grades and subjects (excluding advanced high school math). She will also be offering summer sewing, traditional cooking lessons, and general home economics. Advanced high school math tutoring is available through her husband, Michael Sheridan (mechanical engineer, FCHS alumnus). Flexible hours, call for more information and to secure your spot. LAST CHANCE FOR BASEBALL REGISTRATION!! Irish teams will be forming in the Fairfield County Youth Baseball League out at the Tschopp Rd complex. Last season we had a total of 5 Irish baseball teams (2 coach pitch, 2 minor, 1 major) comprised of students from St. Bernadette and St. Mary. Coach Pitch: Ages 5-8 yrs (K – 2nd grade), Minor League: Ages 9-10 yrs (3rd & 4th grade), Major League: Ages 11-12 yrs (5th & 6th grade). Player Registration at Dick’s Sporting Goods. Saturday, January 31st from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and Sunday, February 1st from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. I believe the registration cost is $90 per player, but they give you 3 discount cards to sell for $10 each to recover some of your cost. When registering your child, please let them know that he/she is with the Irish and mark it on the registration sheet somewhere. Once again we will need volunteers to help coach. Sacramental Preparation 2014-2015 Please be diligent in adding these events to your calendar so you may be faithful in attending these important sessions. If you’re unable to attend or miss a session, the responsibility is yours to contact me that following week so we can cover the material you missed. Also, deadlines for sacramental forms are very important, so please be sure to submit information on time or your son or daughter may not be able to receive the sacrament as scheduled. As a parent, you are the primary teacher of the faith to your child. Father Eilerman and I are happy to assist and support you in any way we can with this very essential charge in forming you child’s mind and heart with the teachings of our Lord and His Church. In your charity, please pray that the Holy Spirit may guide and bless our preparations this year.

Want to get a casual pass for your child? Buy $200 in SCRIP in one month to earn casual day passes for the following month . You buy gift cards for items you are already going to purchase, and the school earns a portion of the card amount. Designated casual days for this school year: February 20, March 20 (subject to change due to Living Stations of the Cross), April 17 and May 15. We will be processing SCRIP on Monday mornings, in the Copy Room (beside the Spirit store case, across from the gym). Also check online at www.marketday.com to set up an account to order from home! On-line orders must be placed by 11:00 p.m. the Monday before pick up date each month.
