barbellsFisher Catholic weight room is now open for middle school students to attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm – 4 pm, starting on January 15. Students must have their own transportation to Fisher.  Also if school is cancelled we will not have lifting, please check the school website for other possible cancellations.  We will try to keep you all updated as best that we can. We believe in developing the whole athlete and in our opinion as coaches, students need to be resistance training year round, and this will benefit our younger athletes also.  Click here to read more about resistance training benefits year round, and more information on weightlifting. Questions?  Contact Tony Hurps at Fisher Catholic at 740-654-1231.

baseball and gloveIt is that time of year again to register for spring baseball.  Once again, Irish teams will be forming in the Fairfield County Youth Baseball League out at the Tschopp Rd complex.  Last season we had a total of 5 Irish baseball teams (2 coach pitch, 2 minor, 1 major) comprised of students from St. Bernadette and St. Mary. Coach Pitch:  Ages 5-8 yrs (K – 2nd grade), Minor League:  Ages 9-10 yrs (3rd & 4th grade), Major League:  Ages 11-12 yrs (5th & 6th grade). Player Registration at Dick’s Sporting Goods.  Saturday, January 24th, and 31st from 10:00am to 3:00pm, and Sunday, February 1st from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.  I believe the registration cost is $90 per player, but they give you 3 discount cards to sell for $10 each to recover some of your cost.  When registering your child, please let them know that he/she is with the Irish and mark it on the registration sheet somewhere.  Once again we will need volunteers to help coach.  If you are interested in helping coach, please let me know by responding to the email address below. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks, Chad Gauerke, Fighting Irish Youth Baseball, Email:  cgauerke247@gmail.com Cell:  614-562-3275, http://www.fcybaseball.com

Sacramental Preparation 2014-2015  Please be diligent in adding these events to your calendar so you may be faithful in attending these important sessions. If you’re unable to attend or miss a session, the responsibility is yours to contact me that following week so we can cover the material you missed. Also, deadlines for sacramental forms are very important, so please be sure to submit information on time or your son or daughter may not be able to receive the sacrament as scheduled. As a parent, you are the primary teacher of the faith to your child. Father Eilerman and I are happy to assist and support you in any way we can with this very essential charge in forming you child’s mind and heart with the teachings of our Lord and His Church. In your charity, please pray that the Holy Spirit may guide and bless our preparations this year.
