NEW 6th GRADE TEACHER ANNOUNCED! St. Mary School is pleased to welcome Mrs. Jodi Funk as our new sixth grade Math and Science teacher! Mrs. Funk earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio University where she majored in Middle Childhood Mathematics and Science, as well as a Master of Education from Ohio University in Mild to Moderate Educational Needs. She holds a five-year professional teaching license from the Ohio Department of Education in Middle Childhood (4-9) Mathematics and Science, and a five-year Intervention Specialist (K-12) license for Mild to Moderate Educational Needs, and is working on both a Reading Endorsement and a Gifted and Talented Endorsement. Prior to joining the St. Mary faculty, Mrs. Funk taught Science, Religion, and Art for grades 5-8 at St. Rose in New Lexington, and more recently served as an Intervention Specialist at Liberty Union-Thurston School District teaching Math, Language Arts, Reading, and Pre-Algebra for grades 5-8. A practicing Catholic, Mrs. Funk is particularly thrilled to have the opportunity to teach in a Catholic school again!
CAFETERIA STAFF CHANGES! St. Mary School regrets to announce that Mrs. Jenny Smurdon has resigned her position as our Cafeteria Manager. We would like to thank Mrs. Smurdon so very much for her hard work and dedication to our school family! We are happy to share that Mrs. Lynann Shea, a long-time employee of the cafeteria department and school parent, will be serving as our new Cafeteria Manager!
