Eleven St. Mary students got out on Thanksgiving morning to run and earn money for the St. Mary Athletic Association. Fairfield Medical Center’s Turkey Day 5K offered a $250 prize for the school with the most runners. St. Mary tied for 1st place with 11 runners.
Sixth grader Noah Sharp led the way finishing 10th overall in a field of 680 runners with a time of 18:55. This isn’t Noah’s first 5K, but it is his best time. He said he has “been practicing and was ready for the race”. He said he plans to be on the St. Mary cross country team next fall, and hopes to break some records set by another fast Irishman, Fisher Catholic’s Aaron Wood who is currently running cross country and track at the Ohio State University.
