News from the Library

 St. Mary students have been awarded a Certificate of Achievement from Scholastic

for ‘reading and contributing 49,101 minutes toward the 2015 Scholastic Summer

Reading Challenge!’ Students who participated and returned their completed forms

from the library received a coupon for a free meal at Golden Buffet. Keep up the good

work!

 Coming in December, just in time for Christmas shopping: Scholastic Book Fair!!!

More information will be posted in the weeks ahead.

 We will celebrate National Teddy Bear Day next week in the Library.* This day is

celebrated each year on October 27th, the birthday of President Theodore Roosevelt, for

whom the Teddy Bear was named.

 Students may bring in a Teddy Bear next week on their regular Library Day. The

bears will be tagged with the owner’s name, and put on display in the Library. We will

be reading bear stories (with a Halloween theme of course!) and enjoying some Teddy

Grahams. We will also learn a few things about Teddy Roosevelt.

 If your child chooses not to bring a stuffed bear, s/he may draw a picture of a Teddy

Bear instead.

*Library Standards include ‘participate in library media center activities and reading celebrations.’
