St. Mary School is among first to use smart technology to stop the spread of Flu in school!
As schools everywhere gear up to fight flu this season St. Mary hopes to remain ahead of the bug this year and keep more kids healthy with the help of Kinsa Smart Thermometers. Selected as one of just 500 schools nationwide to participate in Kinsa’s FLUency school health program ALL St. Mary families will receive a FREE Kinsa Smart thermometer, priced at $19.99 retail, and will be able to see aggregated, anonymous information on any symptoms and illnesses going around the school.
“Sick days are disruptive to learning, challenging for parents who must find childcare and costly to schools that are already struggling with strapped resources,” explains Kinsa founder and CEO Inder Singh. “In addition to the disruption, it is heartbreaking for both parents and children when the household is hit with the flu. Since the thermometer is the first thing a parent reaches for when their child becomes ill, we designed Kinsa to be smarter, capturing symptoms earlier, and providing guidance on what to do next. We are thrilled to offer select schools a tool to keep more children healthy and in school.”
Our top priority is keeping our students in class learning. With this innovative program, we hope to see the trends affecting our classrooms so that we can better contain the spread of illness, increase attendance, and continue giving our students the education they deserve.
With Kinsa Smart Thermometers, parents can not only see anonymous information on symptoms and illnesses going around, but can also track individual health history for each family member via the companion Kinsa app, to get a quicker, more accurate diagnoses, share details with another caregiver or physician, and receive guidance on next steps if fever and symptoms are cause for concern.
Kinsa’s smartphone-enabled thermometers bring peace of mind to parents and health conscious consumers by quickly and accurately recording sickness details and providing guidance on what to do next. KINSA shows common illnesses that are circulating within communities, and is advancing efforts to create a real-time health map that will detect potential epidemics before they spread. http://kinsahealth.com/
