7th and 8th Grade Baseball News

Attention St. Mary 7th & 8th Grade Baseball

Players and Parents:

baseball

It’s time to begin preparing for the 2016 St. Mary Baseball Season. This year we have an opportunity to participate in the Catholic Diocese of Columbus Rec League. This is a great opportunity for our players and parents, as listed below:

– We will have no home field for games this year.  Fisher will have Freshman, JV, and Varsity baseball teams this year limiting the use of their field. Practices will remain local, but games will be played at another location.

Planning and scheduling will be done by the Rec League;  this is a heavy task previously performed by the coach

– Play other Catholic schools, at a similar competition level. As participation drops in other schools, we have found it increasingly difficult to schedule competitive games. Playing in the Columbus Rec League will offer the opportunity of increased competition for our players.

BUT FIRST – WE NEED A COACH!

If you or anyone you know would be willing to lead a Jr. High team this year please reach out to Cheryl Cale by Feb 21st.  Below are requirements of any/all coaches within the Diocese of Columbus Rec League:

  • Protecting God’s Children
  • Play Like A Champion Today (courses will be offered in March on multiple dates)
  • FBI/BCI Fingerprints
  • Note: Coaches are NOT required to complete the Fundamentals Of Coaching OHSAA Training

 PLAY BALL and GO IRISH!
