SUMMER SCRIP sale schedule is attached. Any amount ordered over the summer will be applied towards the first SCRIP CASUAL DAY in September! To print an order form, click here. We will be processing SCRIP orders during the summer, at school, every other Monday morning in the Athletic Department Office (located near the gymnasium by the cafeteria door). You can send your order in ahead of time, or stop in from 10 a.m. until noon on the listed days and purchase on-hand certificates at that time. You can order on-line as well. $5 Athletic Physicals for St. Mary Students! June 1st, 2013 from 8 a.m. to last check-in at 10:45 a.m. at Ohio University- Lancaster. All St. Mary student athletes must have a physical before beginning practice for activities in any season of the upcoming school year. Getting a physical on June 1st will cover the athlete for the entire school year throughout all sports seasons! Click here to print a 2013-14 OHSAA Physical Form. Have this form completed and signed by a parent before having the physical. A parent or guardian must accompany each athlete to the physical on June 1st.
Can’t make the June 1 date? Sports Physicals will also be available June 8 at the OhioHealth Pickerington Sports Medicine Center, 1979 Hill Rd. N. Pickerington from 8 a.m. to last check-in at 1:30 p.m. Please state that you are an athlete from Lancaster Fisher Catholic/St. Mary for the $5 price.
Fall Sports Pre-Registration on May 29th during lunch at St. Mary! It is time to pre-register for fall sports! Mr. Seimer will be at St. Mary during the lunch period for current 6th and 7th grade students (next year’s 7th and 8th graders) to gather their contact information and areas of interest for fall sports. Students who intend to participate in golf, cheerleading, football, cross country or volleyball in the fall, please see Mr. Seimer and be prepared to choose your sport, provide a phone number, parent’s name, and parent’s email address so that you can be notified when teams are formed. CONGRATULATIONS to the 10 students who represented St. Mary School at the State Science Day Saturday, May 11 at The Ohio State University. Chris Carter led the way scoring 38 out of 40 possible points for a Superior Rating and an Honorable Mention Award. Maggie Palsgrove, Beau Boyden, Alex Blackston, Zach Vogel and Brock Conrad each received an Excellent rating for their projects. Four students competed as teams. The team of Bayley Fields and Emma Tobin received a Superior Rating and the team of Sam Wells and Jacob Lynch received an Excellent Rating.
Irish Youth Sports Camps Irish coaches and athletes will again be presenting summer sport camps for basketball, cheerleading, football, soccer, volleyball and softball. See the attached flyer to register.
PINT SIZE HERO BLOOD DRIVE Wednesday, May 22 1:00-7:00pm in the Spirit Center. Each St. Mary student who invites an adult to donate will be recognized as a Pint Size Hero and receive an American Red Cross thank you gift!

This past fall we played 9 regular season games- 7 of those were at the Lancaster Soccer Complex, and 2 were out of town (Circleville and Logan). Fees last year were very reasonable at $65 per player. All parents of interested players are asked to contact Kellie and Sean Boyden at kaboyden@att.net or 687-5177. Our current 7th and 8th graders who played this year had a lot of fun, and we hope for sufficient interest to field a team again this fall- GO IRISH!

ATTENTION 8TH GRADERS! 2013-2014 Fisher Catholic Cheerleading Tryouts – MAKE -UP DATES
There will be an additional tryout next week for those who are interested in cheering next year, but were unable to attend the actual tryout because of prior commitments. Cheer Clinics will be held Monday May 13th and Tuesday May 14th in Alumni Hall gym, and tryouts for both football and basketball cheerleading squads will be held on Wednesday May 15th beginning at 5 in Alumni Hall (location subject to change). Monies left in 8th grade accounts will be refunded on May 30, 2013, upon request. Monies remaining in all other accounts will be carried over for the 2013/14 school year. SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS:
For our spring elections, the Advisory Board had 3 applicants for 3 open board positions. With an equal number of applicants and positions, we will forgo an election and Father Eilerman will appoint our applicants to a 3 year term which begins with the June board meeting. Tom Crook will be appointed to a second term and we welcome Bob Krooner and Corey Gavin as new members. Thank you to our applicants for their willingness to serve our school in this capacity!
Thank you to every student and teacher who participated in the “pennies war” during the spring book fair. The number of pennies brought is was 14,705 or $147.05 and we were able to donate 24 brand new books to the New St. Mary Preschool program along with that Scholastic will be donating 24 books to an organization serving children who are in a poverty stricken area. The winning classroom for K-5, was Mrs. Foura’s class donating $66.89 and for 6-8th the winning classroom was Mrs. VanEvra’s donating $44.51.
Each of these classrooms earned their teacher $25.00 to spend at Scholastic. Thank you all again for supporting SMS book fair.

Fighting Irish Youth Football: Registration is now going on for the 2013 football season. All boys and girls entering grades 1 thru 6 at St. Bernadette and St. Mary are eligible for football and cheerleading for the Fighting Irish Youth Football program. Registration is now through May 30, 2013. FALL IRISH CLUB SOCCER: All St. Mary School students who will be in 7th and 8th grade for the 2013-2014 school year (and any 6th grade students who will have “aged out” of Parks and Rec soccer) are invited to join our Irish FC (Football Club) Soccer Team. This past fall we played 9 regular season games- 7 of those were at the Lancaster Soccer Complex, and 2 were out of town (Circleville and Logan). Fees last year were very reasonable at $65 per player. All parents of interested players are asked to contact Kellie and Sean Boyden at kaboyden@att.net or 687-5177. Our current 7th and 8th graders who played this year had a lot of fun, and we hope for sufficient interest to field a team again this fall- GO IRISH!

Fighting Irish Youth Football: Registration is now going on for the 2013 football season. All boys and girls entering grades 1 thru 6 at St. Bernadette and St. Mary are eligible for football and cheerleading for the Fighting Irish Youth Football program. Registration is now through May 30, 2013. Please visit the Fighting Irish Youth Football link on the St. Mary school website or go to www.fightingirishyouthfootball.com website for more information and registration forms. We will also be having sign ups in person at St. Bernadette on Thursday, April 18 after school just outside the front of the school building and at St. Mary on Wednesday, April 24 outside the school building on the west patio after school. If you don’t want to register online and want to register in person this is a perfect opportunity. This also gives you an opportunity to ask questions to some of the Irish Biddy football coaches, cheer coaches and committee members who will be at the sign ups both days. Go Irish!

This past fall we played 9 regular season games- 7 of those were at the Lancaster Soccer Complex, and 2 were out of town (Circleville and Logan). Fees last year were very reasonable at $65 per player. All parents of interested players are asked to contact Kellie and Sean Boyden at kaboyden@att.net or 687-5177. Our current 7th and 8th graders who played this year had a lot of fun, and we hope for sufficient interest to field a team again this fall- GO IRISH!

3rd Quarter Report Cards will be sent home Thursday, March 28 for students in K-5th grade. Reports cards will be available ONLINE for middle school students on Progressbook. If you do not have a computer or internet access, a paper copy of the report card will be provided. Please let your teacher know! Final reports for all students will be sent home at the end of the school year.
Spring Picture Day has been moved to April 24! Watch for packets coming home!

SPRING SCHOLASTIC BOOKFAIR! April 15-19th 2013 Hours: Mon/Wed 8:30-11:00 and Mon/Wed/Th 12:30-3pm Tuesday 12:30-3pm. On Thursday April 18th the book fair will be open from 8-11:00 for grandparents. We encourage you to tell your child’s grandparents (parents are welcome too!) to come over after mass and enjoy some coffee and donuts or muffins while purchasing books from our wonderful book fair.

FCAA Mulch Madness Fisher Catholic Athletic Association is holding their annual “Mulch Madness” sale through May 24 with Ohio Much. Sandwich Saturday is this Saturday, March 23rd at 8 a.m. in the Spirit Center. Please join us! Bring your family and help give back locally. THANK YOU to all who attended our St. Joseph Father Daughter Dance! Our dance is held yearly as a celebration of St. Joseph’s feast day, March 19th. We hope a wonderful evening was enjoyed by all of our guests. Thank you to everyone who made Cake Bingo a HUGE success!!!! The spirit of St. Patrick filled the air. We had over 60 cakes and over 30 raffle prizes donated to this event! It was a family hit!!!
