BSTRONG Annual Golf Tournament – June 22nd

Posted by on May 17, 2013 in School News

GetInlineIn 2010, Brian Gilchrist was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Although Brian’s cancer is late stage and his prognosis is uncertain, he continues to work with his doctors to fight this aggressive disease. His faith, spirit and attitude are an inspiration to all who know him. However, living with and battling cancer is an enormous burden and so too are the financial pressures of pursuing treatment. Your support can help alleviate this stress for Brian and his family allowing them to focus on facing this fight with courage, with faith, and with dignity. Last year the event raised over $11,000 and 100% of the proceeds went straight to the Gilchrist family. Please join us this year and help exceed our 2013 goal of $16,000.

Please contact Benedict Boyden 614.496.0272 or Michael Neighbor 614.209.0656 for more details or go to http://www.shop.benttreegc.com/ to register to play, to donate, or to become a BSTRONG event sponsor.

May Crowning Mass & Grandparents Lunch Thursday

Posted by on May 7, 2013 in School News

Grandparents were invited to join us this Thursday, May 9 for school Mass at 9:00am & school lunch immediately following.

RSVP forms were sent home with students & were due by Friday, April 26 so we could order & prepare the correct amount of food for our students & their guests.

May Crowning will take place during our school Mass.  Congratulations to Emma Tobin who was selected to crown Mary & Brock Conrad who was selected to escort Emma based on essays they wrote about Mary.

After Mass the teachers will escort the students back to school in their class groups.

After Mass grandparents are asked to proceed to the front entrance of the main building on Chestnut St. where a check-in table will be set up.  Grandparents who are not attending Mass can come to the main building between 10:15am & 10:30am.

Grandparents will check-in & be matched with their grandchildren with the help of the St. Mary staff & then proceed to the lunch line.

Recess will be offered for students after lunch.  Grandparents will be asked to bring their grandchildren to the check-in table when the lunch period ends so the staff can organize the students for recess.

We look forward to welcoming our school grandparents!

Gr. 6-8 Zoo Field Trip – Parent Drivers Needed

Posted by on May 1, 2013 in School News

Junior High Zoo Field Trip

Attention: Parents!  We need your help.  The House of St. Peter sponsored a service project earlier this year entitled “Adopt-A-Pet”.  Over $800 was raised for the Columbus Zoo and each House was able to adopt an animal of their choosing.  As a reward, we would like to take the students to the zoo to see their animal and to receive awards from the zoo.  This trip will not be possible without your help.  We are in need of parent drivers to transport the students to the zoo on May 17th.  Please let your child’s teacher know if you are available to help us with this wonderful trip.

Thank you!

St. Mary Junior High Teachers
