LAST SCRIP Casual Day is tomorrow, Friday, May 17! SCRIP gift cards are on sale every Monday, in the Coach’s Office, by the boy’s locker room, from 8:00-10:30 and every Friday, in the Main Hallway, by the Teacher’s Resource Room, from 2:15-3:00. Story Time Pancake Breakfast to benefit Fisher Catholic Athletics. Sunday, May 19th from 8:30-1:30 at Fisher Catholic High School, athletes will be serving Pancakes, Sausage, Coffee, Milk, and Orange Juice. Cost is your generous donation to the athletic program. Student athletes will be reading children’s stories throughout the time.

CONGRATULATIONS to the 10 students who represented St. Mary School at the State Science Day Saturday, May 11 at The Ohio State University. Chris Carter led the way scoring 38 out of 40 possible points for a Superior Rating and an Honorable Mention Award. Maggie Palsgrove, Beau Boyden, Alex Blackston, Zach Vogel and Brock Conrad each received an Excellent rating for their projects. Four students competed as teams. The team of Bayley Fields and Emma Tobin received a Superior Rating and the team of Sam Wells and Jacob Lynch received an Excellent Rating.
Irish Youth Sports Camps Irish coaches and athletes will again be presenting summer sport camps for basketball, cheerleading, football, soccer, volleyball and softball. See the attached flyer to register.
PINT SIZE HERO BLOOD DRIVE Wednesday, May 22 1:00-7:00pm in the Spirit Center. Each St. Mary student who invites an adult to donate will be recognized as a Pint Size Hero and receive an American Red Cross thank you gift!
$5 Athletic Physicals for St. Mary Students! When: June 1st, 2013 at 8 a.m. Where: Ohio University- Lancaster Why: Because all St. Mary student athletes must have a physical before beginning any type of practice for the upcoming school year. Getting a physical on June 1st will cover the athlete for the entire school year throughout all sports seasons! Print out the form attached here. Have this form completed and signed by a parent before having the physical. Don’t wait until it is too late and you have to make a costly appointment with another physician; get your physical on June 1st when all of your friends are getting theirs. A parent or guardian must accompany each athlete to the physical on June 1st.
ST. MARY NEWS:
Fall Sports Pre-Registration on May 29th during lunch at St. Mary It is time to pre-register for fall sports! Mr. Seimer will be at St. Mary during the lunch period for current 6th and 7th grade students (next year’s 7th and 8th graders) to gather their contact information and areas of interest for fall sports. Students who intend to participate in golf, cheerleading, football, cross country or volleyball in the fall, please see Mr. Seimer and be prepared to choose your sport, provide a phone number, parent’s name, and parent’s email address so that you can be notified when teams are formed. See you on May 29th!
Middle School boys are not required to wear ties for the remainder of the school year WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SCHOOL MASS DAYS ~ Ties are only required on May 16, May 23, and May 28.
Sheri Sheridan is looking to form sewing and tailoring classes in her home, for the summer, for all ages (even adults), and abilities. Individual lessons may also be offered. For more information, or simply to express interest, please call (740) 215-5009.
Fighting Irish Youth Football: Registration is now going on for the 2013 football season. All boys and girls entering grades 1 thru 6 at St. Bernadette and St. Mary are eligible for football and cheerleading for the Fighting Irish Youth Football program. Registration is now through May 30, 2013. FALL IRISH CLUB SOCCER: All St. Mary School students who will be in 7th and 8th grade for the 2013-2014 school year (and any 6th grade students who will have “aged out” of Parks and Rec soccer) are invited to join our Irish FC (Football Club) Soccer Team. This past fall we played 9 regular season games- 7 of those were at the Lancaster Soccer Complex, and 2 were out of town (Circleville and Logan). Fees last year were very reasonable at $65 per player. All parents of interested players are asked to contact Kellie and Sean Boyden at kaboyden@att.net or 687-5177. Our current 7th and 8th graders who played this year had a lot of fun, and we hope for sufficient interest to field a team again this fall- GO IRISH!
Guitar Lessons: Does your child have a guitar and want to learn to play? Mrs. Carpenter will be giving guitar lessons to beginners, ages 4th grade thru 8th grade, in Room 300 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays after school. The lessons will be 1/2 hour for $10, and she will supply a study book. If you are interested, please email her at hcarpent@cdeducation.org. Supply your phone number, child’s name and grade, and she will set up a time for your child.

ORDER FROM MARKET DAYS! The next Market Day pick up day is this Saturday, May 18th in the Spirit Center from . Order forms are available outside the office, and may be sent in with your child. Remember to send in your Box Tops and Campbell’s Soup labels, in a marked envelope, with your child! Our school earns money!!!!
